This
sale is from the collection of David Cheney who was the founder of a NH
Holocaust museum called “Crossing the Wire” which later was downgraded
to a travelling exhibition due to the crippling cost of running the
museum. A brief biography of David is listed below which we encourage
anyone with interest in this sale to read. Everything in the sale came
from his collection and is being sold without reserve.
Nothing will be passed or ‘bought in’. Some historically unique items
from the collection will be donated along with a final monetary donation
in David Cheney's name to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in
Washington, D.C.
Directions: From the traffic lights at the intersection of routes
202 and 101 in Peterborough, NH, proceed west on 202 for 1 mile to the
old mill complex on the left. Signs will be posted.

Documents and Miscellaneous Paper:
Period transcripts from the Nuremberg trials including Albert
Speer’s opening statement with his hand written notes. Numerous SS
promotion/enlistment and other documents signed by Himmler, Pohl,
one signed by Hitler and others. Hitler Youth ID books, awards and
documents. SS personnel records. Identity papers for Germans and
Jews. SS leader’s questionnaire. 7 KRIPO awards. KRIPO arrest
documents. Approximately 25 “Fragebogen” (Questionnaires for Jewish
persons in the medical field). Foreign labor registration cards and
ID books. Prisoner transport documents. Documents related to the
personal property tax the Nazi’s imposed on the Jewish population.
Notifications of resettlement. Death Notices. Gestapo files for
deceased Jewish citizens who were due insurance. Polish resistance

accompanying photographs and documents.
Letters:
Approximately 45 letters written from various concentration camps
including Buchenwald, Dachau, Auschwitz, Sachsenhausen and others.
Letters to an American family with a son in the US Army and a nephew
in the German Army, both of whom ended up in POW camps. Letters
from concentration camp doctors asking for supplies. Handwritten
letter by Reinhard Heydrich. 5 letters dealing with Dr. Franz
Riedweg (one signed by Himmler). 2 letters signed by Karl Wolff. 3
letters signed by Eicke (2 of them addressed to Himmler). Letter
from Dr Karl Jung to Himmler. 2 letters from Albert Speer to David
Cheney from the mid to late 1970’s. Numerous others.
Propaganda:
Highly offensive examples from the “Der Ewige Jude” (The Eternal
Jew) book and exhibition. Anti-Semitic leaflets and flyers
including “When You See This….”. Very interesting collection of
leaflets dropped over Germans by US and Allies and also examples air
dropped BY Germans over US and Allies many of which attempt to hurt
respective moral.
Posters:
Recruiting poster for the SS Wallonie Division. Large 1934 Nazi
Labor Day poster. SS Recruitment Posters. Numerous posters
and broadsides warning against attacks on German Officers and
Reprisals for attacks on German Officers. Numerous broadsides (most
in Polish) with execution notices. Many others.
Miscellaneous: Original pen and ink panel by the cartoonist
“Fips” from “Der Sturmer”. Letter Head from important branches
within the Reich including Hitler, Goring and Goebbels (includes
calling cards and official invitations etc). French resistance arm
