11 Peter Stretch Tall Clock, 8 day brass works, signed on
the lower edge of the brass dial, "Peter Stretch, Philadelphia,"
time, strike & calendar movement, walnut case with old finish and a
bulls eye window, fine condition overall. Peter Stretch was the
second fully corroborated clock maker in Philadelphia in 1702, 92
1/2" tall. Provenance: A Hershey, PA collector, Pook & Pook
Auctioneers, exhibited at the "Lancaster County Tall Clocks", March
1993, # 4.

time strike and calendar movement, signed on the painted iron dial,
"Jacob Gorgas, Hinkletown," walnut case with broken arch bonnet and

39 French Charger Marked Jules Vieillard, depicting a
young woman, beautifully framed with velvet cloth set in an ornate
gold leaf gessoed frame. Charger measures 16 1/4" in diameter, mid
1800's. Jules Vieillard was the technical director of the David
Johnston & Co. porcelain factory, Jules purchased the business from
him and manufactured porcelain in Bordeaux France from 1845-1868,
(see mark on verso). Provenance: A New Hampshire collection.
