94A Sarcophagus Painting of Fayum,
painting on gesso on wood panel, 13 1/8" x 7 5/8" with edge losses
and upper corners cut. Painting depicts a woman wearing earrings and
2 necklaces over a pull over blouse, some cracks and paint
chipping. Appears to be from the Roman 1st century A.D., period from
Egypt . These are known as "Fayum," portraits of a deceased upper
class person. Provenance: A Peterborough , NH estate originally

sheet copper cut out to depict a 19th century locomotive, the smoke
stack is clad on either side with Zink to create a proper balance,

available to be inspected upon request, 19th century New Hampshire.

center medallion of pheasants and ducks swimming on a checkered
ground, 90" x 80", 19th century. Provenance: A New York State

112 Fire-Arm -
Consecutively Numbered Pair of Cogswell & Harrison Ltd 12 ga. Side
lock Shotguns, in their original fitted leather case. Barrels of
both #1 and #2 side by side shotguns measure 27.5" in length. Chokes
on both are IMP. CYL. and CYL. Length of pull on each shotgun
measures 14.75" to the center of their rubber butt pads. Both
straight grip stocks are of nicely figured walnut and are both
checkered at the wrist and fore grips. Barrels of both shotguns have
been re-blued and show some wear to bluing at the chambers and the
barrel tips. the engraved makers name and location can just be
deciphered on the top rib as it has been polished after being
re-blued, "Cogswell & Harrison..New Bond st, London ," can be
discerned after careful visual examination. Checkering on both is
worn somewhat smooth, no case coloring is evident but each gun is
finely detailed with rose scroll engraving throughout.
Consecutive serial numbers are 467XX and 467XX. Rubber stacked butts
on walnut stocks measure 1.5" deep. Provenance: A Dublin , NH and
New York collection, purchased by the consignor's father . Estimate

Stained Glass believed to be made by
Donald MacDonald was born in 1841 in Glasgow, trained in London during the
1860’s and immigrated to the US to join the William McPherson & Co Studios in
Boston which he later took over and changed into his name. During the 1870’s he
was a leading exponent of the British Design Reform Movement. MacDonald's work
was well known throughout New England. The McPherson/MacDonald studio had done
most of the windows for Harvard's Memorial Chapel "The William Ellery Channing
Memorial Window" in the Newton, MA, and the Presbyterian Church. The window in
the National Arts Club (the former Samuel J. Tilden Mansion at 15 Gramercy Park
South) may be seen in James L. Sturm's STAINED GLASS FROM MEDIEVAL TIMES TO THE
PRESENT: Treasures to Be Seen in New York. Glass has been crated and all 11
pieces are shown photographed individually and then combined together for a
sense of what the window would like installed. In excellent condition. Estimate
