223.    3 brass fluid lamps (2 with marble bases).  19th century.

260A   Chippendale mahogany side chair with a cupids bow shaped crest, a half moon design at the center, flaring carved ears above shaped beaded styles, a carved owl shaped splat and an upholstered slip seat set in a molded seat frame supported in the front by cabriole legs with acanthus carved knees shaped legs ending in ball and claw feet with backward swept tallons, probably 18th century Massachusetts.

274A     Asahel Lynde Powers (1813-1843, Illinois) oil on canvas primitive portraits of Lucius and Mary Plumb (father and daughter) signed on the back "Painted by A L Powers, 1839". 24.25" by 29.25" sight. Descended through the family to the consignor. Depicts a woman seated on an Empire sofa wearing a white dress and holding a floral bouquet with a pastoral scene in the window behind her, repair left of her forehead, both framed in older gold frames. Provenance will accompany purchase.

283     Change: The artists name was misspelled in the catalog and should read Matteson rather than Malteson.

316A   Theodore Levigne (1848-1912, French) oil on board of early soldiers gambling near a cave in a woodland setting, signed lower left "T. Levigne". In a gold painted frame, 28" by 19" sight.

330     Change: The Book "Red Harvest" was incorrectly listed in the catalog as a second edition and is in fact a first edition.

332A     Charles Francois Daubigny oil on canvas of river scene at sunset, 26" by 12" sight.

456     Etching on paper of a man leaning out of a window holding a clay pipe attributed to Cornelius Pietersz Bega (1620-1664) 3.5" by 4.5" sight.

457     Bisque figural cigar box of Uncle Sam smoking a cigar seated on a cluster of cigars tied with a ribbon inscribed HAVANA. Marked on the bottom "BB 8122", probably 19th century, English.

458     Henry Few Smith (1821-1946) oil on canvas portrait of a bearded gentleman. Under glass, framed, unsigned, 17" by 19.5" sight.

459     Henry Few Smith oil on canvas full length nude of a man working at an anvil, unsigned, under glass and framed.

460     Tortoise shell box inlaid with silver and with a silver plaque and ivory feet lined with decorated paper. 2" by 3", 18th/19th century.

461     Gold silk front mans vest embroidered with leaves and flowers, self covered buttons, lined and backed with linen, 18th/19th century, probably French.

462     Blue and white delft 10.25" plate with a yellow rim, some chipping, probably 18th century England.

463     TA Forsyer pair of oil on board paintings: a pair of ducks hung upside down and a pair of trout, signed lower right, 17.5" by 29.5" sight, oak frames.

464     Sheraton Mahogany one drawer work table with a molded edge rounded corner drop leaf top above a case with a single beaded edge drawer flanked by half columns set on turned and reeded legs ending in cone shaped feet, 28" tall by 20" wide by 23" deep (closed leaves), 19th century, probably mid states.

465     Empire Ash watch hutch with a molded top over a case with a central glass door compartment flanked by turned columns set on a carved base with egg form decoration, 7.5" wide by 6.25" tall, probably 19th century American, old finish.

466     Marble classical figure of a nude woman seated on an overturned jar, damage to fingers, 7.5" tall.

467     Marble classical figure of a woman being seduced by a winged man, 12" long, repair to base.

468     Oil on canvas of a child amid puppies, 5.25" by 4" sight, unsigned, newly framed, 19th/20th century.

469     Persian/Indian Oriental rug with an overall floral design in muted red tones, finely woven, 7' by 12'8", some wear, staining and holes.

470     Oil on board still life of a vase of flowers after the Flemish school, indistinctly signed lower right, 18.5" by 24.5" sight, framed.

471     Polished brass wood box with a coat of arms on the top and front with punch decorated borders, 22.5" tall by 18" wide and 17" deep.

472     Paint and floral decorated dove tailed box with a sliding lid and sides that extend into feet, 14.5" long by 8.25" wide by 4.5" tall.

473     Broadside for the "Fireman's Grand Ball New Ipswich, NH, April 3 1889, Transcript Print, Peterborough, NH.". Under glass, matted, framed with holes along fold lines. 28" by 39.75" sight.

474     Oil on canvas of a Gypsy family signed lower right "B A Lett---, 1892". 9.5" by 11.5" sight, recent frame.

475     Reverse painting on glass of a landscape with a house, river, trees, etcetera. Pierced gilded frame, paint loss, 11" by 8" sight, signed lower left "Lyloyes"(?).

476     Nicolaas Johanes Roosenboom (1805-1880, Dutch) oil on board landscape with a foreground of fields and trees and windmills in the background signed lower left "N J Roosenboom". A notation on the back designating it as part of the Dingley Collection. In a new frame, 18.5" by 13.5" sight.   

477     Hepplewhite tavern table in yellow paint over grey over red with a 3 board top above the case and a single end drawer supported by 4 tapering square legs. Top 33" wide by 42.5" long by 26.5" tall, 19th century.

478     Granville Richard Seymour Redmond (1871-1935, Los Angeles, California) oil on canvas landscape of a California sunset, the sun sinking behind mountains with trees and a house in the foreground, 16" by 20", signed lower left, framed.

493     Pewter Lot to include: a teapot, 2 creamers, sugar marked "Sheffield", double handled porringer and 6 spoons.

494     3 Pewter handled coffee pots: one marked "James Dixon & Sons" - 6" tall, one marked "G. Richardson"  - 8" tall and the third marked "Boardman & Hart" - 7" tall.

507     Oval shaped edge pewter platter, 15" long, indistinctly hallmarked, 18th/19th century, Continental.

508     Shaped edge pewter plate, 12" diameter, hallmarked, 18th/19th century, Continental.

509     2 Hallmarked pewter chargers (12" & 15" diameters) 18th/19th century.

510     4 piece pewter tea and coffee set, helmet shaped, lacquered wooden handles, gadrooned edges and paw feet: Coffee, tea, creamer, and covered sugar. Marked on the bottom "James Dixon and Sons", 19th century, England

511     Pair of pewter candle sticks with round stepped bases decorated with a band of acorns and oak leaves, faux bobeche sockets, 19th century.   

512     Pewter lot: one unmarked 8" pewter basin, a hallmarked 8 5/8" deep dish and an unmarked rimmed 9.5" deep dish, 18th/19th century.

513     Pewter lot: one 8 5/8" pewter plate, a pair of 8.5" plates and a single 8.75" plate with chased decoration, probably 19th century, Continental.

514     Pair of pewter 8.75" pewter plates, unmarked, 19th century.

515     A pewter bell shaped handled fluid lamp, 5" tall,19th century.

516     Pewter salt with a stepped pedestal base, 2.25" tall,19th century.

517     Set of 8 shaped edge 6.5" plates, indistinctly hallmarked, 18th/19th century, Continental.

518     Four 8" pewter plates: 3 marked London, 1 with a shaped edge, 1 unmarked, 18th/19th century.

519     Two shaped edge plates (9" and 9.75") indistinctly hallmarked, 19th century, Continental.

520     5 unmarked pewter tumblers and measures of varying sizes, one handled together with a small tea pot marked "James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield".

521     Room size Afghan Oriental rug. Red and black with an overall design of large lozenges, worn, 13'2" by 10’4", early 20th century.

522     Pewter lot: covered pitcher with a fluted spout, a shell for a thumb lever, and a shaped handle, marked "I P" on the lid and indistinguishably on the bottom along with a 10" plate marked on the bottom "---rune Wald, winged justice with a deer 1810".

523     Pewter lot: an 11" oval pewter dish with a Chippendale edge and a 7.5" round plate, both marked London.
