Chirahyan Karapet (Chirahov Carpo) Hachaturovich, (1873-1913), Armenian, oil on canvas, impressionistic painting of a Parisian Street Scene, titled on label on verso “Tableau NO. 7, Boulevard Elysee,” probably sold from his gallery in Paris, France, which he opened in 1903. Canvas, stretcher and frame are ink stamped with a French stamp which is only partially legible and reads “---ouan--- (?), Francaise (?).” Signed lower left in Cyrillic "K YNPAXOB" also appears on title label on reverse. Canvas measures 32" high x 39 1/2" wide. Painting is in original untouched condition. Provenance: An Italian Estate.

Prendergast, member of the New York Watercolor Club and the Copley Society, J.J.” At the time of this printing, contact has been made with Nancy Mowll Mathews, who has done his catalog raisonne. Provenance: A Massachusetts collection, Dennis DeVine, Lakewood County, NJ, gift from Donald Van Der Hayden, heir to a mining & construction fortune in MN and founder of Breeze Ski Rental in Vail, CO. Van Der Hayden acquired the piece from his mother. We do not know where she got it from.
