Of simple form, the figure carved as a quadruped with long tail and simple face; the eyes and mouth indicated by carving and the surface covered with thin incising possibly representing some pattern of scales. Fine old surface from handling. On a custom base.

Collected in Congo prior to 1970 by Lawson Mooney, former Director of Catholic Aid Agencies; Dr. Kenneth Adelman, former US Deputy Ambassador to the UN, and one time member of USAID, Zaire, c. 1975; A NY Private collection.
