Lot 163: A fine and rare Dan female figure

The figure probably of Liberian original and hailing from the hinterland near the Mano peoples, with simple face with heavy brow line, and typical features, long ringed neck, rounded shoulders and fine graceful arms carved akimbo. The body well proportioned and with incised scarification tot he torso, above narrow legs and small feet. On a custom base.
