A Set of Twelve Chinese Export Paintings on Pith Paper, depicting Chinese methods of punishment and one a court scene, all matted and framed under glass, 6 3/4" x 12". 19th C Export, two with some matt and ground staining. Provenance: From the Estate of Dr. Samuel G Jarvis(1816-1892), W. Claremont, NH, a brother in-law Captain Tarr of Philadelphia brought these back from Canton, China per the family history.
