Circa 1780 To 1812 Seaman's "Figure Eight" Cutlass, American Or English. Similar illustrated in "World Swords - 1400 - 1945" Page 237. Metal grip. Slightly curved single fuller blade with maker's mark "GBST" in a cartouche. Nicks in blade suggest combat use. This model used in the American Revolution. Shows much age. No scabbard. Blade Ln: 20". Loa: 25".
