Lot 137: Native American Breastplate and Four Weapons

Native American Breastplate and Four Weapons, Breastplate made from rows of strung bone with leather edging and center panel of leather and metal round beads, strung with brown cotton cord, an abalone disc is attached to the top center and finished with a red ribbon of flannel fabric, measures approx. 16 3/8" longest x 9 1/2" not including fringe. The weapons include three arrows, the longest measuring 21 1/4", all made with wood and metal points and decorated war club. The club is made from a smooth oval rock decorated with a strip of leather and beadwork attached to a wooden shaft that has been covered in hide, some loss to the hide shows the wood underneath to be painted red. Total length is 18 3/4" and the rock head is approx. 3 5/8" widest.
