William Preston Phelps, Mass./ NH (1849-1923), Oil on canvas painting of Mount Monadnock at sunrise as seen form the old chapel on Stone Pond, Marlborough, NH (see photo attached which shows the same view today from the same spot he stood to paint this scene), 14" x 22", set in the original gold molded frame (23" x 31" overall), pencil inscription on stretcher, "Mount Mon at twilight, Marlboro, NH Stone Pond", signed lower right 'WP Phelps", cleaned, good condition.
