Peter Stretch Tall
Clock, 8 day brass
works, signed on the lower edge of the brass dial, " Peter Stretch,
Philadelphia," time, strike & calendar movement, walnut case with
old finish and a bulls eye window, fine condition overall. Peter
Stretch was the second fully corroborated clock maker in
Philadelphia in 1702, 92 1/2" tall. Provenance: A Hershey, PA
collector, Pook & Pook Auctioneers, exhibited at the "Lancaster
County Tall Clocks," March 1993, #4. Estimate $18,000-24,000
