301. Two Sarouk Oriental Scatter Rugs: A - Overall floral design on a red ground, end loss, 56 1/2” x 42”. B - Overall floral design on a red ground, some wear, small stitching repair in center, edges rebound, 57 1/2” x 42”, end loss. Provenance: A New Hampshire collector.

302. A.C Fairbanks Co., “Regent” Mandolin, labeled inside, “A.C. Fairbanks Co. Boston, Mass,” and a nickel name plate, 36 solid rosewood and maple ribs, rosewood fret board with m.o.p. inlay and cream binding with small piece of binding missing on bottom side of first fret. Has a solid spruce top with checkered border, rosette and an ebony bridge with nickled plated bridge cover. Has two one piece tuning mechanisms and is stamped “90” between both sets of tuners. Original tooled leather case, pat. dated 1893, good condition. Provenance: A Milford, NH estate.

Lugar Pistol 1906 American Eagle, 4” barreled pistol chambered in 9mm, an American eagle crest is impressed over the chamber and the frame is serial #33285 and it is impressed “Germany.” Extractor is marked “Loaded,” no stock lug, portion under the safety is not blued. Pistol is in very good to excellent condition with just slight holster wear. Provenance: A Milford, NH collection.

Colt Single Action Army Revolver, in the rare .38 caliber, with original letter from the “Office of the Historian, Colt Archive Properties, LLC,” authenticating this revolver, serial #163249, as a 4.75” barreled blued revolver in .38 Colt, shipped to Colt‘s Patent Fire-Arms Mfg. Company, San Francisco Agency, on November 12, 1895. Two line patent information on barrel reads “COLT’S PTD F.A. MFG. CO., HARTFORD, CT. USA,” circle rampant colt trade mark stamped on left side of frame and revolver wears circle rampant colt hard rubber pistol grips. Provenance: A Southern sporting collection.

Jefferson Davis Tintype - New Discovery, 6 7/8” x 5”, tinted photograph, (1861-1865). “Face Explorer” & “Beta Face,” facial recognition software programs have taken the circa 1854 daguerreotype from the Museum of the Confederacy of Virginia & the 1860 daguerreotype collection from the Chicago Historical Society & confirmed this tin type to be the same person. 320. Two Blued Smith & Wesson Tip Up Revolvers, with ivory grips in a custom fitted mahogany case. A - Model 1 ½ “Old Model” non fluted cylinder .32 rimfire, single action with a 3 1/2” long octagonal barrel and a square butt. Serial #2547. This is the early production model with only 2 patent dates impressed on the barrel. B - Model 2 “Old Army,” non fluted cylinder in .32 rimfire action with a 6” long octagonal barrel & a square butt serial #43391. Provenance: A Southern sporting collection.

Scrimshaw Hippopotamus Tusk, Commemorating The Completion Of The Suez Canal, (1859-1869), with a coin silver necklace, inscribed, “1866 Aout 7, Canal Maritime de Suez 1859-1869,” lettered above the decoration. The tusk was taken on August 7, 1866 by Jules A. Amilie, (a professional hunter, hired to protect the workers from hippos & Nile crocodiles). The central portrait is of Napoleon lll flanked by French flags, the goddess of commerce & a French sailor. In the background are the Pyramids & The Temple at Karnac. The attached silver mount has his name engraved. mounted on a coin silver blocked base, approximately 12 1/2” long, good overall condition. Provenance: A New Hampshire collection.

New England Mahogany Queen Ann Kettle Stand, dish turned round top with 3 leaf carved & scrolled spills, under the top is a pull slide for a spirit lamp (this appears to have been added at a slightly later date), the turned pillar is very columnar, similar to some Newport examples (see New England furniture by Jobe and Kaye page 300 #74). The cabriole leg is a classical New England form with padded snake feet, leg repairs, crack in top, 18th century, 23 1/2” tall. Provenance: A Massachusetts collection.

Audubon Octavio Folio Prints Lots 530 to 550

These prints were recently removed from the book, Birds Of America, Vol. IV, by John James Audubon, New York, Philadelphia J.B. Chevalier 1842. They were removed in such a way that the binding edge is intact. The prints are in virtually mint condition and measure 10 1/4” tall x 6 3/4” wide. From a local New Hampshire collection. The entire collection has always been in the same family.
