26 Fire Arm - James Purdey & Sons, Ltd. 20 gauge side lock
shotgun with ejectors. Side by side 26" barrels are chambered for
2.75 shells. Chokes are IMP. CYL and FULL. The nicely figured walnut
straight grip stock is finely checkered at the wrist and ends with a
hard rubber butt pad, (missing a small butt of rubber at it's base),
Length of pull measures 14.5" at the center of the butt pad. Top of
left barrel reads, "Audley House, South Audley, London, England."
Center barrel rib has a non reflective textured surface. The side
lock plates, receiver surfaces etc. are all finely detailed with
rose & scroll engraving. The checkering at the wrist and fore grip
is still sharp. The case coloring remains at 99% and is very strong
throughout, the bluing remains at 98%, wear at the barrels tips with
a rub mark and scratch here & there. Serial #26472, circa 1951.
Comes with it's original case, snap caps, stuck shell extractor,
rosewood handled screw drivers, nickel plated oil bottle, cleaning
kit with rod and extra gold plating firing pins and springs housed
in a screw capped horn case. Provenance: A Dublin, NH and New York
collection, purchased by the consignor's father from James Purdey.

27 Fire Arm - James Purdey & Sons Ltd., 20 ga side lock
shotgun, side by side 28" barrels are chambered for 2.5" shells.
Chokes are CYL. and IMP. CYL. Figured walnut straight grip stock is
finely checkered at the wrist and ends horizontally grooved hard
butt plate. Length of pull measures 13.5" at the center of the butt.
Top barrel reads, "Audley House, South Audley, London, England, made
of Sir Joseph Whitsworths fluid steel." The side lock plates,
receiver etc. are all very finely detailed with rose & scroll
engraving; 46% of the case coloring remains and is most visible on
the left side lock plate, beneath the release lever and on other
protected surfaces. The barrels & their chambers are pristine; 99%
of the bluing remains, has been reconditioned. Checkered and
engraved fore grip has a very slight .75" long age crack at its
rear. Serial #2363XX, circa 1926. Is complete with it's own
Abercrombie & Fitch branded leather case with James Purdey & Sons
Ltd. label on interior lid and all accessories still in their
plastic wrappers. Provenance: A Dublin, NH and New York collection,
purchased by the consignor's father from James Purdey.

28 Fire Arm - L.C. Smith Skeet Special 12ga, side by side
barrels measure 26" long. Chokes are both Imp. Cyl, has a single non
selective trigger, a.k.a. "The Hunter's One Trigger," and ejectors.
The skeet special has a 13.5” length of pull at the center of its
horizontally grooved hard butt plate. Shotgun is in wonderful
working order, as it has been reconditioned. Serial #1558xx, this "Fwen"
coded shotgun was shipped to, "Babcock, Hinds & Underwood," on
5/20/1937. Comes with original beaver tail fore grip and is mounted
with a slim line fore grip. A copy of the letter from "The Marlins
Firearms Co.," with info from L.C. Smiths Record books is included.

29 Fire-Arm - Consecutively Numbered Pair of Cogswell &
Harrison Ltd 12 ga. Side lock Shotguns, in their original fitted
leather case. Barrels of both #1 and #2 side by side shotguns
measure 27.5" in length. Chokes on both are IMP. CYL. and CYL.
Length of pull on each shotgun measures 14.75" to the center of
their rubber butt pads. Both straight grip stocks are of nicely
figured walnut and are both checkered at the wrist and fore grips.
Barrels of both shotguns have been re-blued and show some wear to
bluing at the chambers and the barrel tips. the engraved makers name
and location can just be deciphered on the top rib as it has been
polished after being re-blued, "Cogswell & Harrison..New Bond st,
London," can be discerned after careful visual examination.
Checkering on both is worn somewhat smooth, no case coloring is
evident but each gun is finely detailed with rose scroll engraving
throughout. Consecutive serial numbers are 467XX and 467XX. Rubber
stacked butts on walnut stocks measure 1.5" deep. Provenance: A
Dublin, NH and New York collection, purchased by the consignor's
father.
