5              Mary Jane Simes, (granddaughter of James Peale), 1807-1872, Maryland, watercolor on ivory broche/pin of an Egyptian woman, signed on the right side, "M. 13            Alvan Fisher, 1792-1863, Massachusetts, White Mountain artist, oil on canvas portrait of his son, Alvan Josiah flying a kite while near the sea shore with a sailing ship in the distance, 29 1/2" x 24 3/4" original gilded & gessoed frame, probably made by John Doggett, ca. 1832, relined & crackle. Provenance: Descended in the Baker family until now. They are a direct descendent of Alvan Fisher, also referenced in 1962 in the Connecticut Historical Society Bulletin vol. 7, No 4 pg. 107, also pictured on pg. 102, "26 School St" Home of Alvan Fisher, Artist & His Descendents". 17            Sevres Oval Porcelain Compote, bronze molded edge rim with open handles over a blue bowl with 2 painted scenes (river with mill and a man courting a woman), all set on blue porcelain shaft with bronze base and cap all highlighted with gilt decoration, the "Sevres" mark is under the base with a "D" & "S" designations, 10" tall x 12.5" wide, 19th c. 18            Serab Oriental Rug Runner, 3 central diamonds on a cross hatched cream ground. 14.5" long x 32" wide, good overall pile, slight edge wear, E. 20th c. Persian. Provenance: A southern MA collection. Estimate $600-1,000

19            Portsmouth, NH Queen Ann Arm Chair, pierced & carved crest done in the manner of John Gaines III, vase form splat, molded arms over a rush seat set on a block & ball turned base supported by Spanish feet, old refinish, restored, 43" tall, E. 18th c. (See plate 13, "Portsmouth Furniture book by Brock Jobe). Provenance: A southern New Hampshire collection originally purchased from a home in New Ipswich, NH in the 1980's.  Estimate $1,500-2,500

20            Paint Decorated Covered Treen Bowl, the outside of the bowel is painted in mustard & brown paint to simulate 2 large feathers, the original turned lid has a tapered finial handle, 7 1/2" diameter x 7 1/8" tall, E.19thC, poplar wood, no splits or cracks. Provenance: A Peterborough, NH Americana collection. Estimate $400-700

21            1795 American Sampler, wrought by, "Polly Groves," at the age of 12 years, zigzag border with silk flowers surrounding a central block of ABC's, her name over a garden scene with birds, 16 1/2" x 13 1/2", framed under glass, good overall condition. Provenance: A Peterborough, NH collection, originally purchased here in southern, NH. Estimate $1,000-2,000

22            Red Painted Pembroke Table, rectangular drop leaf top over a case with one drawer at the end set on 4 reeded and turned legs, cherry, chestnut & pine, original red painted surface, 36" long x 34" wide (open) x 29" tall, ca. 1800-1810, New England/ Rhode Island. Provenance: A southern, NH collection, originally purchased at an estate auction in MA. Estimate $600-900

23            Wrought Iron Kettle Tilter, swivel loop holding the kettle handle holder decorated with 2 curlicues and a carved tilter handle, rare 18th c. American form, old as found condition, 12" tall x 15" wide. Provenance: A southern, NH collection, originally purchased from Barry Sheldon Antiques, Chester, CT. Estimate $400-700

24            Queen Ann Mirror with Candle Arms, walnut veneered arched crest with 2 curlicues over multi piece molded mirror frame having a 3 arched base having 2 brass swivel plates each holding a brass serpentine candle arm, 35 3/4" tall x 16 3/4" wide, pine back boards, appears to be American/English 18th c. Provenance: A Peterborough, NH Americana collection. Estimate $4,000-6,000

25            Pair of Painted Step Down Windsor's, overall original red paint with yellow/green floral decoration on the crest & front edge of the seat, 34 3/4" tall x 17 1/4" seat height, NH ca 1800-1810. Provenance: A southern NH collection originally came from an early home in Roxbury, NH. Estimate $300-500

26            George Washington Armorial Cup & Saucer, handle less porcelain bowl, blue decorated border with one side of the cup decorated with "GW, MW" flanking a lifted wing griffon on a crown over a shield displaying 3 red stars & 2 red horizontal stripes, bowl has mended crack, probably French porcelain (unmarked), ca. 1800, 5 5/8" diameter saucer x 3 3/8 deep bowl. provenance: A MA estate collection, comes with a hand written note, "Belonged to Major Gen. Samuel Holden Parsons, one of Gen. Washington's staff, he was grandfather of Great uncle Stephen Lanthrop,". The cup & saucer has descended through the family till now. Estimate $600-1,000

27            Wooden "Church" Child's Bank, roof & sides are nailed together, chimney with slot for coins, bottom screwed in from sides for coin removal, painted on one side, "John Wolbert Bank," good old color, 8 3/8" long x 9" tall (steeple) x 5 1/2" wide, 19th c. 39            Portsmouth, NH Tall Case Clock, bonnet has arched glazed door revealing an 8 day brass time, strike & calendar movement with painted iron face; reeded 1/4 column waist with mahogany banded door over an arched base with complex inlaid apron, NH ca. 1800-1810, ca. 1902 top of bonnet added, cracks in birch case, old red wash surface, 87 1/2" tall. Provenance: A Jaffrey, NH estate, descended in the family until now with part of the family from so. Maine. written on backboard, in pencil "Brought from Durham Dec. 1979, by David W.
