1. Pair of Early Delft plates decorated in aubergine on white. A man standing near a tree in a landscape. 9” diameter. Possibly late 18th century with some chipping and glaze cracks. 2. Map of “The Isle of Man”. “As described by Tho Durham, 1610 and performed by John Speed in 1610”. Hand colored, 16 ½” by 21 ½” sight. 3. Empire Mahogany work table having two-drawer case over a mid shelf supported by 4 turned legs. Top drawer contains a pop up writing surface and cubbyholes. 19th century American, 22” wide by 16” deep by 28” high. 4. Pair of French brass candlesticks, 10” tall. Probably early 18th century, drilled. Together with 2 other early candlesticks also drilled. 5. Empire Mahogany 2 part secretary having an upper section with 2 pairs of flat paneled doors. The lower pair reveals a desk interior of cubbyholes and drawers. The base section has a fold out writing surface over 3 drawers flanked by rope twist ½ columns set on turned feet. New England, 40” by 77”. Old varnish surface. 6. Oil on board of a western farm scene having a man with a boy driving a WWII Jeep. Signed lower left “J. Clymer”. Excellent condition. 26 ½” by 33 ¼” sight. Note: John Clymer was an important illustrator. We believe that this was done for a “Saturday Evening Post” magazine cover. His work is shown in museums including: “The Clymer Museum of Art”, Ellensburg, Washington. His awards include the “Prix de West” from the National Academy of Western Art. 7. 2 Similar Chinese Armchairs having carved, pierced and shaped splats and backs, carved serpentine arms and paneled seats over a stretcher base. 46” tall by 26” wide, old finish. 8. 2 Similar Tin candle sconces having a crimped edge half moon top with a hold for hanging set in ribbed vertical backs over half round shelves with candle sockets. 19th century American, approx 14” tall. 9. Hanging glass & tin candle lantern having a stepped and pierced top section with a carrying ring over a body having 4 arched sections for glass sides (some glass broken). One side hinged as a door. Rusted surface. 19th century, 21” tall. 9A. Green Tole decorated round tin candle lantern with yellow pin striping and flowers, having tin sides, bottom and top. The base has a hinged door to a compartment for a tinderbox and a hinged door for access to the candle. The cone shaped top has 4 applied half round tin vents and is topped with a brass finial connected to a wire loop. Wire crosspieces protect the openings. There is a tin exterior applied candleholder. 19th century, replaced glass, 21” tall. Hole drilled for electric wire. 10. Hanging tin and glass hexagonal candle lantern. The lantern was hung by bolts on either side. The top has ribbed vents. One side hinged as a door. 18” tall, 19th century. Red painted surface. 10A. Tin Onion lantern with diamond and star cutouts for the top vents having an exaggerated shaped glass (damaged), the original glass oil burner and the original looped handle set on the cone shaped top. 14” tall. 11. Rare tin Tole decorated double candle lamp with adjustable candle arms with shades set on a round base. Drilled. Some paint loss. 19th century, 19” tall. 12. Crotched
Mahogany Veneered Empire Sideboard, the top having a molded backsplash over
cantilevered boxed sides supported by full columns topped with carved acanthus
leaf capitols flanking a case consisting of a convex silver drawer over 4
paneled doors set on a platform supported by carved paw feet bracketed with
carved fruit and leaves in the front. 67 ½” wide by 50” tall. New York circa
1820. Lions head pulls. Some veneer chips and loss. 14. Two Similar Blue and White Chinese tea caddies with floral pattern. Rectangular form with cut corners. One has original cracked top. Early 19th century with edge roughness. 15. Two Chinese export tea caddies with rectangular bodies having cut corners. One has blue flowers accented with gold. The other has a red floral motif with a blue border. Both tops have been replaced with wooden caps. Some edge roughness. 16. Pair of Chinese export pottery water buffalo with green, yellow and brown glaze. 9” long. Chipping to ears. Probably 19th century. 17. 2 large Chinese export vases both having significant rim damage, approx. 18” tall. 18. Tall cherry case clock having a hood with 4 brass reeded columns over a waist having fluted quarter columns and applied vine decoration over a base with fluted quarter columns set on ogee feet. Federal Mahogany Empire Pier table having a crotched mahogany top over a book matched veneered front drawer, containing a pop up writing surface and ink pockets flanked by crotched panels over tapering columns with carved capitals set on a concave platform base supported by heavily carved paw feet. 35½” wide by 39” tall by 19” deep. New York, School of Duncan Phyfe, circa 1825. 27. Delft 9” punch bowl. Blue And White with decoration in the Chinese manner. Some edge wear and chipping. Probably late 18th century. 28. Set of 6 Biedermeier mahogany side chairs with upholstered backs and slip seats having scrolled crotched veneered crests and front seat rails set on saber legs. 35½” overall height, 19½” seat height. Rare Chinese wood and blue and white porcelain tile 8-part table screen with central figural tiles arranged to depict a tale. Some damage with a few pieces missing. Probably 19th century, 32” by 54” open. 34. Two Japanese block prints of partially dressed women at their dressing tables. Both signed. Some wrinkling and discoloration. A) 7½ ” by 10¼” sight B) 10 1/8” by 14 5/8” sight. 35. Weaver, York, PA Grand piano model 5’4”, serial # 70975 circa 1923. Was tuned and regulated in 1990. It has been in storage until recently. Written evaluation available. 36. Chinese Export Silver Bowl, round with panels having a raised design with people and other panels with Bamboo and Hawthorne. Marked on the bottom, “WH ’90” and Character mark, 4 7/8” diameter. 37. Chinese Export Silver Chalice, the bowl having a raised decoration depicting battle scene in a village supported by a round stem with chased decoration set on a round raised base with raised floral decoration. The base has a character mark on the raised edge probably the maker, 7 ¼” tall. 38. Sterling silver jewelry box with a shaped top set on a round body set on 4 foliate legs ending in scrolled feet. The interior is fitted with a velvet inset, 4 ½” diameter. 39. Set of 6 Lenox china demitasse cups set in sterling silver handled holders and saucers. American Early 20th century. 40. Silver chalice having a gold lined bowl with embossed figural decoration and an inscribed band “ TIR FEDERALGENEVE 1887” set on a stem decorated with eagles over fluting. Marked “Wendt & Heidot(?) 800”, 9 ¼” tall. 41. Important Cherry Empire Server or chest of drawers, the top having a scrolled backsplash inlayed with a central tiger maple oval framed in birds eye maple over an over hung top drawer flanked by inlayed oval panels over rope twisted full columns ending in squares with heart inlays. Each of the 4 drawers has birds eye maple fronts. The bottom apron has a spool turned applied molding. The base has four turned legs. The secondary woods are pine and white wood. Probably Vermont origin. Early 19th century, 44 ½” wide by 48” tall. 42. Pair of Mahogany Inlaid Pedestals having a square banded and line inlaid top over a square molding of alternating light and dark inlay set on a square section having four urn and swag inlaid panels surrounded by line inlay over a molded square tapered column inset with four panels inlayed with varying swag and tassel motifs set on a convex banded molding topping a square molded base with banded inlay. English Edwardian. 43. Oil on board portrait of a 19th century gentleman. Gold frame labeled by a New York framer. Probably European, 9 ¼” by 12 ¼” sight. Some crackling and flaking. 44. Still life painting on board of a urn of flowers surrounded by 19th century objects in a gold frame. 6” by 8 ¼” sight. 45. Pastel of a Gothic Parisian Interior having an exhibition label on the verso from “The Century Association” designating “Joseph Downs” as the artist. Early 20th century. 46. Chinese export camphor wood trunk having a green painted pigskin exterior with floral decoration, brass corners, edges and nails. 35” wide by 18.25” deep by 15.75” high. 19th century. 47. Tea Caddy in the form of a Melon. The body is divided vertically by grooves to simulate the melon and then alternately stained a darker color (some worn off), English, early 19th century, minor edge chips, finial replaced and 5 ½ “ tall. 47A. Pair of Miniature portraits on ivory of a man and a woman in early to mid 19th century attire. Both are wearing period jewelry and she has a blue and red floral shawl over her black dress. Oval gold finish frames are identical. Both portraits are in excellent condition. The frames are missing the hair in the back and one is missing the hair inset. 3” high not including the loop for placing on a chain. Probably New England. 48. Mahogany Sheraton server having a rectangular top with ovolou corners set on a case with 2 split drawers over a long drawer set on four reeded and turned legs with a mid shelf. Circa 1815 New York. Old refinished surface. Replaced brass. 36”wide by 19” by 36” tall. 49. Pair of Egyptian revival footed urns made of unfired red clay decorated with a black glaze with figural ancient style decoration, 15 ½” tall. Some damage. 50. Early soft paste figure of a woman in classical dress holding an elaborate cornucopia. 18th or 19th century England. Possibly Leeds. Some chipping on the base, 10 ¾”tall. 51. Sailors Shell Work Valentine having a central embossed paper with a watercolor of a couple kissing, a symbol above the picture and a saying, “Receive this tribute gentle maid, From one who loves you dearly”, below surrounded by an ornate shell border, 3 ¾” wide, framed in a cherry shadow box type frame. 18 ½” wide by 21 ¾” overall dimension. Signed and dated, 1851, on the inside top of the frame. 52. Mahogany two tier lazy Susan. Turned wood base supporting a central iron shaft allows a 17 ½” and a 12” top shelf to rotate. Crack in large shelf. English 19th century. 53. Mahogany Hepplewhite sideboard with a solid wood top with a line inlaid edge set on a case having a central bowed overhung drawer with line inlay and book matched veneer over a serpentine deep drawer, book matched veneer with line inlay and inlaid fans in the four corners flanked by two flame grained concave doors with line and fan inlay over a banded and line inlayed skirt. The tapered four front legs, the center 2 of which are angled to the plane of the flanking doors and have line inlay and banding above the double tapered feet. Late 18th century Massachusetts, 67” wide by 31” deep by 41” tall. 54. Watercolor painting on paper of a clipper ship flying an American flag. Titled on a black reverse painted panel at the bottom of the glass “Pucket Ship Isaac Webb of New York, 1841”. Signed lower right “James Alrich (?), New York 1853”. Appears to be original frame 34” by 25” including the frame. 55. Pair of Mahogany Regency wall sconces. Shaped and molded sides with a median and lower shelf, the back is fitted with a mirror, a small chain pierces the top rail to allow them to be hung and then drapes under the rail for a swag style decoration, English 19th century, 19 ½” tall. 56. Miniature brass kettle. Cast brass bowl with a wrought iron band supporting the bail handle. Appears to be English or American circa 1800, 5 ¼” diameter. 57. Yellow, brown and white overshot coverlet. Early 19th century. Fitzwilliam, NH family history. 79” by 100”, condition good. 58. Mahogany breakfront having a 3 part upper section, the center section being wider than the two flanking sections. All of the sections have a crown molding over a dental molding over a flush fitted glazed door with an intricate mullion design set on a 3 part base with writing slides over 3 flush paneled doors set on a solid base. The center section has two candle slides flanking the writing slide. 19th century English, 90” tall by 92” wide. 59. Pair of Japanese Festival dolls displayed in Plexiglas cases. These two dolls represent the Emperor and Empress. Probably 19th century. Minor hair loss. This lot also includes a book written in Japanese and fully illustrated on the subject of dolls. 60. Two similar Chinese stands with mid shelves and latticework lower shelf. Remains of old red paint. 30” tall by 15” square top. 61. Japanese wood and iron bound and dovetailed writing box. The box has a lift top locking lid, 3 drawers, one locks. 19th century and in good condition but missing one edge of the lid, 10 ¾” by 7 ¾” by 8 ¼” tall. 62. Blue & white Chinese porcelain umbrella stand having a central band of animals and flowers accented by a top and bottom band of darker blue flowers, 21 ½” tall. 63. Imari Charger having a central blue floral circle surrounded by 3 panels with country scenes and raised tree blossoms separated by blue and green medallions. 19th century Japanese, 18” diameter. 64. Carved Chinese export stand with marble inset top. The serpentine carved top is supported by 4 cabriole legs that are pierced and carved with a paneled and carved medial shelf. The legs terminate in unusual ball & claw feet. Superior quality. Late 19th Century in form, 32 ½” tall. 65. Sheraton mahogany bow front deck top chest of drawers. The deck has 2 side-by-side drawers with applied cookie corner columns set against a scrolled ear back splash. The case has 4 drawers flanked by rope twist columns ending in turned legs. The turned brass pulls appear to be original. Early 19th century, New England. 37” case width by 18” deep by 48” tall to top of back splash. 66. Pewter fire mark. The spade form mark is embellished with a classical style building and a crown. Probably Continental circa 1800. 7” tall including the horizontal rectangle on the bottom used to attach it to the building. 67. Set of 8 pewter bowls. 5 ¼” diameter molded edge top bowl set on a round platform stepped base. Unmarked some dents. Probably 19th century Europe. 68. 4 Pewter 6 ¾” deep dish plates together with 3 pewter 4 ½” rimmed saucers each marked 3 times on the upper side of the rim with what appears to be a lion. Probably 19th century Europe. 69. Pewter Pitcher with hinged lid together with 3 shaped and 1 oval miniature trays or under plates. Probably 19th century, European. 70. Painted and gilded slit spindle Empire mirror. The top section has a reverse painting on glass tablet of a country house near a pond and sailboat. Good overall condition, 32” tall 71. Important 2 drawer red grain painted blanket chest. Signed in pencil inside the top drawer “Made by M(ichaiah) Moore of Hancock N H” and on the bottom of that drawer in chalk “Porter” and inside the bottom drawer in pencil “Drawer bottom wrought by George D Fox”. 40” wide on the case by 40” tall. Early 19th century, pine. “Makers Moores and Fox” are found in The History of Hancock, N.H.,1764-1889. vol#2” by Hayward stating “Moores was both a cabinet maker and Sexton of the town”. 72. Oil on canvas portrait of an older woman wearing a white bonnet. Portrait appears to have the original gilded and molded frame. 24” by 30” sight unsigned and relined. Family history traces the painting back to the Long Island, NY area. 73. Blue and white overshot coverlet with loop fringe. 90” by 70” wide. The coverlet was made from 3 panels indicating an early period of weaving. Some staining. 19th century American. 74. Set of 12 cranberry glass finger bowls with gold leaf vine and leaf decoration (some loss). 19th Century, 4 7/8” diameter. 75. Set of embossed blue on cream Wedgwood Queens ware dinner service consisting of: 5 Demitasse cups & saucers, 11 cups & 17 saucers, sugar, tea pot, 7 bullion cups & 8 saucers, 13 luncheon plates, 13 bread & butter plates, 12 sauce bowls, 20 dinner plates and an ash tray. Condition appears to be good. 20th century England. 76. Limited edition volume # 299 of “American Heraldica”, a book of American Families before 1800 with Mottos, Coats of Arms, Crests. Restored binding and custom fitted box. Published 1886. 77. 2 silhouettes in lemon gold frames. One of Thomas Jefferson as an older man the other of Henry Clay. Approximately 9” by 10” including frame. Probably 19th century American. 78. Pair of tin kerosene lamps with unusual side chimney set on inverted saucer base. Comes with 2 glass chimneys. Rare form. Probably 19th century American. 79. Folk art iron and horn meat cleaver. The top part of the blade is cut out to resemble a running fox with a brass eye. The handle is sided with horn and brass. Blade appears to have been cleaned. Possibly 19th century England. 80. Needlework and watercolor of “Daniel in the Lions Den”. Wool and silk stitching on course linen type fabric, background with fine silk water colored insets. Some stitching loss and replaced glass with repainted corners. Older black and yellow frame. 10 ½” by 14 ½” sight, probably 19th century Europe. 81. Bed spread of white homespun fabric with candlewick needlework made in 4 parts. The side panels have a swag and tassel motif and the center has a floral design. Signed and dated on the edge “M J Ham, 1852”. 84” by 94” with cut outs for a postered bed, American. 82. Cherry Sheraton 1 drawer stand having shaped turned legs and a curly birds eye maple drawer front, 1810 probably Vermont. 83. Mocha ware pitcher with blue and green earthworm and stripe design on a cream background. Oval mark on bottom “Copeland”. Mid 19th century England, 4 ¾”tall. 84. Gouache on paper of a garden scene with a central palm tree and two people. The Bay of Naples and Vesuvius are in the background. Mahogany frame with gold beading. Fine Sheraton style carved mahogany three pillar dining table. The top having a reeded edge about urn form columns raised on reeded saber legs ending in brass paw castors. Mid 20th century American. 101. Silver-plated covered vegetable footed serving dish with an interior divider and 4 hairy paw feet. The rim, top handle and feet have ornate raised decoration. Indistinct hallmarks and “Silver on Copper”. Probably early 20th century. 102. Set of six Sterling silver individual wine coasters with wooden bottoms, a sterling silver card tray with an ornate border marked “Shreve, Crump and Lowe ad May 16, 1893” and a boat shaped sterling dish. 103. Pair of Mahogany and Rosewood Sheraton style half round console tables having a figured rosewood top banded in mahogany set on convex molded skirts over 3 reeded tapered Sheraton legs. Late 19th century, probably English. 115. Miniature Portrait on Ivory of “Lucy Armstrong”, a memorial. Framed in an ornately decorated brass frame. Early 19th century. 116. Victorian yarn work shadow box made of green and white yarn on wire in a floral motif fitted in a shadow box type frame with glass sides and top, connected by tape glass. Probably 19th century. Cracked top glass. 117. Delft polychrome deep dish with a shaped edge and a floral border having a central figure of a priest blessing an infant in a cradle. The name “Irene Blowtein, 1787” is beneath the scene. Together with two tiles with buildings. 18th century, probably Dutch. 118. Cherry Chippendale two part secretary having a dental molded top section with 2 raised panel doors with a shelved interior above a lower section with a slant front desk having valanced pigeonhole interior above 4 graduated thumb nail molded drawers set on bold raised ogee feet. Connecticut circa 1785. 119. 6 board pine red and yellow paint decorated blanket box. 39 ¾” long, 19th Century American. 120. Cherry Hepplewhite card table having a rectangular top with ovolu corners, string inlay on the apron and the double tapered legs. There is an inlaid fan in the apron.
