1. Wool and Linen Jacquard coverlet in red, blue, green and beige having a floral and snowflake design. Signed and dated “MADE + BY Fehr & Keck+ IN EMAUS+1843” in the weaving and embroidered “Jacob Gerhart”. 82” wide by 94” long including applied fringe. Probably Pennsylvania. 2. Needlework sampler on homespun in the manner of Pennsylvania needlework, having a border of strawberries connected with zigzag banding with a saying at the top flanked by strawberry plants. Beneath is a central design with diamonds surrounding birds and flanking more birds. Lower center reads “Beulah Parker Daughter of Samuel and Hanna Parker 1798”. At the bottom are trees, dogs, grass and strawberries. Some fading. 17 ½” by 18 ½” site. 3. Sheraton 1 drawer stand, grain painted red and yellow over pine, having a rounded corner top set on a case with a single drawer set on 4 shaped legs ending in turnings over tapered feet. 19 ½” by 19 ½” square case. Possibly N.Y. State. 4. Terrestrial tabletop globe surrounded by a metal band and set in a red painted cast iron frame ending in 3 scrolled feet. Label is partly missing and reads “J.S.CHED__R’S, E Steiger, NY 1873”. Some damage and flaking to sphere. 5. Walnut chest of 4 drawers having an applied molded edge top set on a case containing 4 graduated drawers set on applied ogee feet. Possibly Pennsylvanian in origin. 37 ½” case width by 18 ½” by 36 ¾” tall. Probably original post and bail brass. 6. Oval hand hammered silver-footed bowl with chased panel and gadrooned decoration. Hallmarked .800 silver. 7 ¼” by 5 ½”. 7. Early painted (yellow or white) tin candle lantern in the shape of a shield having a square base supporting a shaped 4 sided glass and tin body decorated with swags at the of the glass faces and leaves at the 4 corners of the top. A door at the side has an oval knob. Topped with a reticulated vent space under a fluted guard with a ring handle. Electrified. Possibly Continental. 24” tall. 8. Mahogany Chippendale mirror, 33” tall with old or original finish. Label on reverse reads “ John Elliot” Philadelphia origin late 18th century. 9. Oil on canvas landscape of Mount Monadnock in the back ground with a stand of birch trees in the foreground. Signed lower right “Chauncy F. Ryder” (1868-1949, New York and Wilton, N.H.) 32”’ by 40” sight. Consignor acquired the painting from a direct descendant of the artist. Newer gold leaf frame. Relined. One of the finest paintings we have ever seen by this artist. 10. Architectural Pine and hard pine Pewter cupboard with original scalloped sides containing 3 molded edge shelves with plate grooves set on a base having a cupboard door with “H” hinges. On the left side of the base were two shelves which have been removed (probably converted to drawer fronts). In the 19th century the four drawers were added. The backboards were probably added at the time of removal. 68 ½” wide by 84” tall by 17 ½” deep. Probably 18th century Peterborough, New Hampshire. Acquired from original family. 11. Southwestern Native American Yie rug mounted as a wall hanging having 3 figures, a stylized stalk of corn and 5 arrows with one of the figures elongated to create a striped border. 35 ½” by 38”. Probably 20th century. 11A. Rawhide and bead decorated pipe bag, probably 19th century native American/Cheyenne, 36” long including the fringe, holes and fringe appear to be replaced. 12. Martingale, horse decoration, Native American made of red and green/blue fabric and decorated with blue and white beaded diamonds. Decorated with Bells. Mounted as a wall hanging. Probably 20th century Plateau tribes. 13. Saddle Cover, Native American, made entirely of gray leather having fringed ends with bells attached and bordered in white beads decorated in designs of red, blue, green and yellow beads. Probably late 19th century or early 20th century. 77” long by 24” wide. 14. Ceremonial rattle made of a filled gourd topped with decorative beadwork and a carved wooden handle decorated in beadwork bands with twisted rope tassels at the end. 14” long excluding the tassels. Possibly Native American. Probably 20th century. 15. Native American rug woven of wool with blue and brown stripes on a cream background and having a central motif with brown, red and blue diamonds in a blue square with notched ends surrounded by various designs in the cream background. 27 ½” by 58 ½” long. Late 19th or early 20th century. Southwestern America or Mexico. 16. Watercolor on paper of two Native Americans riding horses in the desert with an adobe building in the background. Signed lower left “Stanley M Long” (1892-1972). 9” by 10 ¼” sight. 17. Native American rawhide cradle board cover with pink quillwork and fabric binding with a light blue beaded border with triangular designs in dark blue, red and green. Green silky fabric is inset and the cradle closes with rawhide ties. Lined with a cotton or linen homespun fabric. Probably early 20th century Blackfoot. 20” long. 18. Oil on canvas landscape of the North Conway Valley having a man standing on a hill with cattle and a farm in the mid ground with grassy hills and snow covered peaks of the White Mountains in the back ground. Signed lower right “Boutelle 1853” (DeWitt Clinton Boutelle, 1817-1884, Bethlehem Pa). Framed in a gold leaf frame. 47” by 32” sight. 19. Tiger maple tea table having a 28 ¾” round tip top with heavy figuring set on an urn turned shaft and set on 3 snake feet with a central carved line set on platforms. Probably late 18th century or early 19th century New England. 29 ¼” tall. 20. Native American hand woven rug in brown tones with a zigzag design. 36” by 61”. 20th century. Possibly Navajo. 21. Coin silver urn shaped covered sugar with a square base set on ball feet together with a matching coin silver creamer in the helmet form marked “J.R” in a square for Joseph Richardson Jr. Philadelphia. Three step down Windsor side chairs in yellow paint and freehand paint decoration with bamboo turned legs and shield shaped chair seats. Probably early 19th century New England. 29. Antique Sarouk scatter Oriental rug having a geometric design with a central medallion accented with cream surrounded by a dark blue field of geometric flowers with 4 brick colored corners with geometric decoration bordered by a floral border. Brick, dark blue cream and light blue predominate. Good condition with some of the ends missing. 85” by 54 ½”. 30. Oil on canvas half torso portrait of a young woman seated in a red chair, her hair having a center part with cascading finger curls and wearing a black dress with a high lace color accenting a brooch. Wrought and cast iron Betty lamp having beam hook and pick with a slide opening and a wick pick. 5” by 6 ¼” tall. Probably 19th century together with two brass Betty lamps. 32. Wool and linen Jacquard coverlet in cream, red, blue and green having a central floral border surrounded by a geometric field again bordered by a border with a floral design interspersed with thinner geometric borders. 88” wide by 92” long including the fringe. Fringe is applied at the bottom. Probably 19th century Pennsylvania. 33. Oil on board autumn landscape featuring a brightly colored Maple tree. 9 ½” by 12 ½” sight. Attributed to William J. Kaula (1871-1952, Boston Mass. and Wilton, N.H.(?). 34. Important Cherry Empire server or chest of drawers, the top having a scrolled backsplash inlayed with a central tiger maple oval framed in birds eye maple over an overhung top drawer flanked by inlayed oval panels over rope twisted full columns. Each of the 4 drawers has birds eye maple fronts. The bottom apron has spool turned applied molding. The base has 4 turned legs. The secondary woods are pine and whitewood. Probably Vermont. Signed upper right “Laura Hills” (A.N.A. 1850-1952, Newburyport, Mass.). Given as a wedding gift by Mary Sargent Potter (Mrs. Nathaniel Bowdich Potter), cousin of John Singer Sargent, to her daughter Natalie who married Russell Wheeler Davenport who later gave the picture to her stepdaughter Cornelia from whose estate the pastel was consigned. 27 ¾” by 22 ¼” sight. 42. Empire Mahogany and mahogany veneer 2 part bookcase having a scalloped crest over a case containing molded front shelves set on ratcheted supports enclosed by two Cathedral arched doors and 3 horizontal drawers set on a ball footed base with a scalloped skirt having two paneled doors flanked by applied carved decorations and interior shelves. 95” tall by 48” wide at the lower case. Probably mid 19th century New England. 43. Oil on canvas still life of a glass vase of day lilies, a brass bowl and a nude statue of a woman set on a dark green throw with a lighter green backdrop. Signed lower right “W. Lester Stevens, N.A.” (1888-1969, Rockport, Mass). 29 ½” by 27 ½” sight. Replaced gold frame. 44. Watercolor on paper of a farm with the house on one side of the road and the barn on the other. Signed lower left “W. Lester Stevens”. 20 ¾” by 17” sight. 45. Oil on canvas still life of a green vase of white Peonies set on a blue cloth with red drapes in the background. Signed lower right “Angelina V. Stevens”. 17 ¼” by 21 ½” sight. A similar painting was done by her husband W Lester Stevens. 46. Hepplewhite mahogany and mahogany veneer serpentine front sideboard, the top having banded inlay on the edge above a banded case with a long serpentine drawer flanked by two 2 bowed drawers over 2 serpentine center doors flanked by 2 bowed doors. Doors and drawers have beaded edges and banding. All are set on 6 tapering legs with cuffed feet. Four of the legs have burled panels at the tops. Brass is antique but replaced in the original holes. Probably late 18th century Massachusetts. 70” wide x 26 ½” deep x 42” tall. 47. Red ware jug having a green mottled glaze having brown and orange spots, a bulbous body and a handle. Large size. Probably early 19th century Gonic, New Hampshire. 9 ½” tall. 48. English doorway having an arched six-section top, leaded glass sidelights and top section fitted with a 6-panel door. Queen Anne tea table having an oval pine top with a carved cleat support set on a tiger maple molded case supported by 4 carved tapering legs with turnings at the top and ending in 4 small carved Queen Anne Pad feet raised on platforms. Pegged construction. Original red wash. Probably 18th century New Hampshire. Top 34” by 35 ½” wide, 26” tall. 51. Pastel on paper of two children, the boy seated on an Empire sofa with a whip in hand and a horse and wagon in front of him with the girl standing next to him holding a doll. Walnut tall chest having a cornice molding surrounding a dovetailed case with 3 over 2 over 4 long drawers set on a tall dovetailed bracket base with returns. Pair of Mahogany Chippendale side chairs having a carved crest with a central plume, molded stiles, and a pierced splat in the form of a cathedral arch above a needle work slip seat with molded edges on the seat rails and through tenons over a stretcher base supported by square molded Chippendale legs. 18th century. Probably Pennsylvania. Some damage to one splat and the stiles of the other. 66. Gorham Sterling flatware service for 14: forks, knives, salad/desert fork, teaspoons, soup spoons, demitasse spoons, butter knives, master butter knife, and 6 citrus spoons. 105 pieces in all. Yellow Painted one piece Pine Barrel back Corner cupboard having a deeply layered molded top ending in dental molding over 2 glazed doors over 2 flat paneled doors all having brass “H” hinges and surrounded by a picture frame molding. The upper interior has persimmon paint and shaped shelves. Probably late 18th century New England. 47” wide by 96” tall. 76. Bamboo turned Windsor settee having a birdcage style crest ending in points and divided by 5 short spindles above the back with turned stiles and 27 carved spindles set into a saddle shaped plank seat with lines carved into the front supported by a carved stretcher base with 6 legs. The arms are supported by two spindles and a turned support. Probably early 19th century mid Atlantic region. 62 ½” long by 18 ½” seat height and 35 ½” overall height. Grungy refinish. Probably ash and poplar wood. 77. Hand drawn and colored map of the Eastern States on paper showing the borders at the Louisiana Territory, Canada, Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. Sheraton Mahogany Chest top Dressing mirror in a frame with squares at the corners supported by turned columns set a ball footed case with 4 flush fitting drawers having old brass pulls. Probably early 19th century Boston area. 85. Mahogany and Mahogany Veneer Armoire with a foliate carved crest over ripple molding above a case having rounded corners with arched panel doors set on a bracket base with returns. Probably mid 19th century New York. 59” wide by 94” tall. One side of the interior has shelves and a drawer. 86. A pair of coin silver serving spoons marked “JR” for Joseph Richardson, Philadelphia. 9 ½” long. Probably 18th century. 87. Cuban Mahogany Chippendale card table with a fold down top over an applied molded case inset with a single molded edge drawer set on 4 square legs one of which swings. Probably 18th century Philadelphia. Appears to have the original post and bail brass. Missing brackets. Old if not original finish. 88. Coin silver ladle with a flat bowl, hallmarked, 13 ½” long, with a coin ladle with a shell shaped bowl, indistinctly marked. 89. Set of 4 Bamboo turned Birdcage Windsor side chairs with box stretcher bases and molded plank seats. Probably ash and poplar 19th century, Mid Atlantic in origin. 17 ¾” seat height, 34 ½” overall height, some repairs. 90. Mahogany Box having a banded lid with an ivory escutcheon over a thin drawer having two small brass pulls and fitted with porcelain mixing plates. The interior is fitted as a watercolor set for Schoolgirls and Ladies. Large paper label by “Reeves & Inwood, England” affixed to the underside of the lid. Probably late 18th or early 19th century. 91. Empire Mahogany and Mahogany Veneer dressing chest having a pediment crest supported by columns supporting a mirror in frame with circles at the corners set on a deck having 3 flanking drawers over a case having 2 over one convex front drawers supported by a shaped trestle style base ending in scrolled feet and having applied discs on the sides. Probably 19th century New York. 36” wide by 66” tall. 92. 2 Bennington pottery cottage vases in white porcelain with applied handles representing corn and stalks having raised polychrome decorations of domestic scenes. Probably 1850-1858 Vermont. 8 ¾” tall. Similar examples are pictured in the Bennington pottery book. 93. Mahogany carved and molded edge dish top tip top tea table with a central carved shaft with a swirl carved ball set on 4 foliate carved legs ending in snake feet. Beech wood block supporting the top. Probably 18th century England and probably with the original clasp. 29 ½” diameter by 27” tall. 94. Pastel on paper of an early 19th century woman with dark hair and a white dress with pink accents. Frame is gesso on wood and possibly original. Probably Continental. 8 ½” by 12” sight. 95. Empire mahogany and mahogany veneer chest having a dressing mirror in a frame with circles at the corners supported by turned columns set on a 2 drawer deck above an overhung case of 3 drawers supported by columns with carved pediments set on 4 turned feet, the front feet being reeded. 77 ½” tall by 39” wide. 95A. 2 Piece Rogers group “The Photographer” (19” tall) and “His Subject” (17” tall)”.
