18thC Tahitian Pounder or "Penu", Made of closely grained basalt, 6 1/4" tall x 4" diameter at bottom with tapered rectangular handle, good old color. Provenance: Upsala/ Stockholm, Sweden with possible "Anders Sparrman of Captain Cook fame" source as they were thought to be maulers, same collection as #58A.
