Lot 105: A Particularly Interesting Moro Barong

A Particularly Interesting Moro Barong. Simply but elegantly carved pommel of highly grained wood. Fore grip bound in a silver sleeve. Middle of grip wrapped with fine, braided cord. Thick, sharp blade has what can only be a bullet hole through the cutting edge. Probably a "bring back" from the Moro uprising. Throat of wood scabbard is finely carved and is partially wrapped in rattan. Some loss to scabbard. Ca: 1870. Blade Ln: 12". Loa: 18".
