A Pair of Heavy Brass Conquistador Stirrups, Stirrups like these were originally developed in the 1600s in the New Word to protect the feet of the Spanish invaders from brush, thorns and weapon strikes. Nicely embellished with shells, floral scrolls and tribal faces and show wear and several neatly repaired cracks. Triangular holes in the bottoms to drain water.
