Civil War, Military and Antique Buttons. A - G.A.R. Civil War Veteran's buttons and button covers: 1 - large button, 9 large covers, 1 medium button, 2 medium covers, 7 small buttons, gilt. B - Civil War Era Fire Department Button: one small "FD" uniform button with "EXTRA QUALITY" impressed on back, gilt. C- Civil War era Gutta Percha buttons: 6 medium, 4 small. D - Satin covered buttons: 2 buttons with original cloth back and marked, "The US CO, NY." E - NH Officers Civil War Era Button: state seal sailing ship, "SCOVILL MF'G CO, WATERBURY,' on back, gilt. F - Civil War Era Federal Navy Buttons: 5 medium buttons, eagle over horizontal anchor, fluke behind the wing, 'AM BUTTON CO, NEWARK, NJ," on reverse gilt. G - Civil War Era Federal Officers Staff Buttons: 2 medium sized buttons, eagle with shield, unmarked on iron back, gilt. H - Large Boys Brigade Uniform button, gilt. I - Civil War Era US, Federal Union Army General service buttons: 2 medium size, one illegibly marked the other, "EXTRA (star) Quality with star in recessed circle on verso. J - US Marines blackened buttons, one large marked "star D. EVANS & CO star Attleboro Falls," and 5 medium buttons marked, "SCOVILLE MF"G CO. WATERBURY." K - US Military Blackened Buttons: 19 large, 8 medium and 4 small buttons, featuring an eagle clutching an olive branch in its talon and arrows in the other. These are marked on reverse with, AMERICAN BUTTON CO, W.H. HORSTMANN & CO, STEELE & JOHNSON. C. KENYON CO, HORSTMANN, D. EVANS, THE ART OF METAL WORKS, G.J. & F. PARIS, THE AUSTIN CO, R. LIEBMAN MFG CO." L - WWII Era US Military buttons: 2 medium buttons marked, "WATERBURY BUTTON CO," 1 medium button marked, "HANDY BUTTON MACH. CO," and 2 small buttons marked "WATERBURY BUTTON CO," some are gilt. M - Civil War Veterans G.A.R., lapel button: 1861-Veteran -1866" and PAT. 1894 on interior. N - Miscellaneous military buttons: 6 total, various sizes, gilt. All Civil War Items are from the collection of Richard Vitagliano of Concord, NH, collected over Forty Years.
